A history in Seferihisar: The Naval Festival

August 14 naval festival tradition is revived in Seferihisar, where people used to celebrate the end of the grape and tobacco season for decades.

In the past, people used to swim together for to celebrate the end of the harvest season. The Naval Festival was hold by Seferihisar Municipality on Akarca Beach thanks to the support of Naval Security Command Post and Sea Guard Police. Several games are played as the winners received some awards and losers had raw eggs and flavor tossed onto their heads.

The naval festival yet again was observed with great joy.

Seferihisar Municipality will keep on cherishing the Naval Festival as a cultural heritage to carry on the tradition to future generations.
