SOLAR ELECTRICITY PRODUCTION WILL START SOON

– A solar field of 6257 sqm will be build in Ulamis village.

– The plot land has been allotted by Seferihisar Municipality to the production cooperative.

– The founding cooperative produce renewable energy and make profits.

– Mayor Soyer: Seferihisar’s energy revolution will be an example in Turkey.

THE SOLAR PRODUCTION WILL START

The solar powered electricity production mentioned by Seferihisar Mayor Tunc Soyer in 2016 as one of the great municipal targets is at the construction phase. The process started with the foundation of Seferihisar Renewable Energy Cooperative (SEYEKO) and the plot land suitable for the purpose is allotted by the Municipality. The test project of a 100 kW solar field will be constructed in Ulamis village.

AN EXAMPLE FOR TURKEY

Seferihisar Mayor Tunç Soyer commented as follows: “We are relieved to make a major progress on this project we invested for so long. Seferihisar has abundant renewable energy resources of solar, wind and geothermal, which in total has a capacity of 10 times more than the average annual consumption of the district. Unfortunately these options weren’t being used efficiently in the past. We are fully committed to produce energy by renewable energy. The process took longer than planned because of the inadequate incentive mechanisms for the cooperatives. Seferihisar will be make revolutionary steps for renewable energy production by founding a cooperative.  I wish that the residents became members of SEYEKO and be partners in this initiative. I would like to thank the board members of SEYEKO, Mr. Umur Ozanoğulları and Mr. Adil Alper Coşkun for their utmost efforts.”

WE WILL PRODUCE OUR OWN ENERGY AND MAKE PROFITS

Adil Alper Coşkun, a member of Seferihisar Renewable Energy Cooperative (SEYEKO) provided detailed information on their accomplishments so far: “In the scope of the cooperative founded with the Municipality, we have made significant progress on the solar field project. The members of the cooperative will redeem the amount they spent for the production in 9 years and will gain profits for an additional 21 years. More information and calculations are available on www.seyeko.web.tr. We will be glad to answer any questions.“
