The celebrations were made for the 82. Anniversary of Great Leader Mustafa Kemal Ataturk’s visit to Seferihisar.

The ceremony, which took place in Cumhuriyet Meydanı, started with enwreathing the Atatürk Monument and followed with the demonstrations of taekwondo, gymnastics and local dances. The gymnasts show reflecting Ataturk’s arrival to Seferihisar applauded by the cheerful crowd.

Seferihisar Mayor Tunc Soyer made a speech emphasizing the significance of the event: We are presenting ourselves here to celebrate one of the most important aspects of our town’s history. Our Great Leader Mustafa Kemal Atatürk visited our town 82 years ago. Following his initiation of the national independence war in 1919, Our Great Leader carried revolutions and reforms into effect constituting a new Turkey. He described our way as the modern civilisations way and we in this little town struggle to do our best to follow Our Leader’s way.

We consider the local achievements be the base for bigger, national achievements. We dream of a strong, developed and bright future for Seferihisar. We dream of a town with zero unemployment rates. Only then we could be worthy of the honour to our grandfathers defended this land for their lives. We have to work very hard, if we want to create a better future for the next generations. Here again we commemorate Mustafa Kemal Ataürk and his fellow men-at-arms with gratitude and promise to be protectors of his heritage and reforms.”
