First Energy Cooperative to Operate

DON’T PAY FOR THE ELECTICITY FOR A LIFETIME AND MAKE MONEY BY SHARING THE PROFIT OF THE COOPERATIVE

Seferihisar Renewable Energy Cooperative (SEYEKO) launching meeting has been made and pre-registration period has started. The solar field planned to be founded in Ulamış village of Seferihisar will produce electricity. The power generated will be consumed by the shareholders. The excess electricity will be sold and the profit will be shared between the shareholders.

The renewable energy process started before a year with the foundation of SEYEKO. The launching and pre-registration meeting has taken place in the municipal wedding hall on March 1st 2018 with a great interest of people. Seferihisar Mayor Tunç Soyer, SEYEKO Vice President Umur Ozanoğulları and SEYEKO Board Member Adil Alper Coşkun provided information with presentations. The renewable energy production will start on a field rented to the Cooperative by Seferihisar Municipality.

As declared by SEYEKO Board, the first 50 members of the Cooperative will not pay for electricity bills up to 100 TL and will benefit from the Cooperative profits. The cooperative membership can be inherited by his/her successors as one member passes away. The members of the energy cooperative will have privilege joining the future projects of SEYEKO. Thanks to the Cooperative the people of Seferihisar can use the local resources and investment to produce electricity. This initiative of energy cooperatives and local development will create a good example in Turkey.

MUNICIPALITY FULLY SUPPORTS THE COOPERATIVE

Seferihisar Mayor Tunç Soyer made statements on the subject: “SEYEKO board members overcame legendary challenges like Farhat of the tale digging into mountains. It wasn’t easy to meet the challenges of strict legal requirements. But they worked hard and accomplish the task for the sake of their trust in Seferihisar and the cooperative concept. Seferihisar residents will Seferihisar is a natural energy heaven. According to the researches, Turkey’s solar energy potential corresponds to ten times more of its annual energy consumption. We will succeed in this and be again a good example to Turkey.”
