In the scope of Youth Step Green for Sustainable Cities project, 30 young people from Germany, Greece and Turkey gathered in Seferihisar between 23 April – 2 May 2018.
The ten days project in Ürkmez neighborhood covered studies on urban sustainability, youth, ecological cities and Cittaslow. The young participants at the project had the opportunity to examine the Municipality’s projects on-site.
The participants also visited the Children Municipality initiated by Seferihisar Municipality the first time in Turkey and received a briefing on the operations and accomplishments of the Children Municipality.
They also had the chance to view the practices carried out by Seferihisar Municipality regarding the Cittaslow criteria as the founder of Cittaslow Turkey network. The municipal staff made a presentation about the International Cittaslow, the Network of Slow Cities, the membership criterion and application methods.
Young participants of the project were informed about Seferihisar’s campaign for preservation of the local seeds and were presented seeds reproduced by Can Yücel Seed Center.
The young team visiting the district by means of Erasmus+, will leave on May 2nd.
