Slow City Seferihisar started an awareness campaign for Slow Sister City Tortum/Uzundere. The Federation of Erzurum Residents Living in the Aegean Region visited Seferihisar Mayor Tunc Soyer to deliver a plaque expressing their gratitude on this campaign.
Mr. Soyer delivering a speech upon the visit of the Federation, praised the beauty of Uzundere region: “If there would be Heaven on earth, that would be Uzundere. This natural wonder has been formed in thousands of years and shall not be sacrificed for short term hydro-electrical power plants.
The people of Erzurum shall therefore be totally aware of the power plant projects and do their best to impede the processes.” Tunç Soyer will be visiting Uzundere on 2nd May 2016 in order to deliver the Cittaslow title and the flag to the representatives.
During the visit Mr. Harun Cici asserted that the Cittaslow membership was granted thanks to Prof.Dr.Faris Karahan’s dedicated preperations and Mayor Soyer’s support. He also added that Erzurum city will have a promotional stand in EXPO 2016 Fair in Antalya according to the theme “The Garden of Erzurum”.
