The YouthBank Project being followed in many countries all around the world to increase the active participation of the youth to the social life and supporting them by at increasing the life quality in their local communities, is being carried on in Seferihisar thanks to the collaboration between Seferihisar Municipality and Toplum Gönüllüleri Vakfı (TGV – The Foundation of Civil Volunteers) .
The YouthBank started in North Ireland in 1999, which still continues in England, Germany, Ireland, Armenia, India, Bosnia Herzegovina, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kazakhstan and South Africa, has been adopted in 2013 in Seferihisar.
In 2018, the young people involved in the YouthBank project between ages 15-25 initiated five social responsibility projects with the support of their peers regarding the needs of their local communities. YouthBank Seferihisar team attended a training with 80 students from Necat Hepkon Anatolian Highschool on social media applications and their usage. After the training, the team and the students visited the elderly caring home. The students enjoyed the high-school band concert and the handicraft workshops at Seferihisar Children Municipality. The YouthBank team also joined part at the graffiti paintings of the Children Municipality facility. The team also visited the local animal shelter, Prof. Dr. İsmet Sungurbey Seferihisar Stray Animals Shelter to deliver the pet food they gathered as donations.
The YouthBank team also visited Seferihisar Mayor Tunç Soyer to provide him information about their accomplishments in the scope of the project.
