One spot at the town center once occupied by the former cultural center, has transformed into a park named ‘Atatürk Park’. The opening ceremony of the new park was made on Saturday 19th May.

The old cultural center building located at the town center had been demolished a few months ago. The former plans for a multi-storey building has been changed for a park in terms of sustainable urban planning. The new 700 sqm park has been established by Seferihisar Municipality and Hiddenbay Teos Investor company with tourism investments in Sığacık.

The park was ornamented with various local and tropical plants including a 200-year-old olive tree, two oaks, six linden trees, six coral trees, four jacarandas, 10 acacias, one Delonix Regia, crape myrtle, canna, three citrus trees, two mulberries and numberless of bushes. The park will be irrigated by a natural well inside the park.

The opening ceremony was led by Seferihisar Mayor Tunç Soyer, the members of municipal assembly, Mr. Sean Edward Galleymore – one of the investors of Hiddenbay Teos and facility manager Marie Louise Ergin.
