“My Forever Friend” Festival for raising awareness on animal rights was organized on September 1st and 2nd, 2018 in Seferihisar.
The workshop on animal rights on Saturday 1st included debates on the following subjects: Test laboratories, local governments and animal shelters, volunteers, law and population management. The result declaration of the workshop will be assigned to the National Assembly as an opinion for future regulations.
The festival continued on Sunday in Sığacık with the outdoor workshop. Seferihisar Mayor Tunç Soyer, SEHAYDER Chairman Fevziye Özkan, Chairman of the Animal Rights Confederation Nesrin Çıtırık, Prof. Veterinary Practitioner and Specialist Psychologist Tamer Dodurka and Seferihisar City Council Chairman Ekrem Gün were the speakers of the event.
The participants of the festival distributed pet food for the stray animals at various feeding stations in the district. The stray animals at Seferihisar İsmet Sungurbey Stray Animals were provided new homes. There was a watercolor painting workshop and various shows including theatre plays, concerts, dog training and Seferihisar Children Municipality courses.
