Seferihisar Municipality’s “Alternative Farming is Possible” Project baring it’s fruits. This is the first year of the production of olive oil in a renovated olive oil factory in Beyler village. The oil pressed from the olives picked from the antique trees were sold in a popular and highly valued auction. The antique olive oil started to be sold in Seferihisar and Sığacık grocery stores.
On 20th June 2016, Migros Marketing Group Manager Cavit Metin signed an agreement on the purchase of 1000 bottles of olive oil. The oil is the second local product of delicacy of Seferihisar after sweet tarhana. The amount of the next purchase will be negotiated upon the continuity of the sales. The agreement opens a new channel for producers to sell their products directly to the customer in Migros- Macrocenter markets.
Seferihisar Mayor Tunc Soyer commented on the protocol signed in Istanbul: “This new sales agreement denotes the quality of our products. As we always said, a direct sales connection with the producer and the consumer is extremely important and we are very proud to have strengthen this connection. I would like to thank Migros managing team for their goodwill and understanding.”
