The City Economic Contribution Awards granted to the institutions, which initiate projects for sustainable economic growth and effective usage of resources has been given to Seferihisar Municipality this year. Seferihisar’s award-winning project “Karakılçık Wheat with Purchasing Guarantee” secures the guaranteed purchase of the wheat grown by Seferihisar farmers for the double of the state announced price.
Seferihisar Mayor Tunç Soyer explained about Seferihisar’s agricultural policies: “We give the Karakılçık wheat seeds to our farmers for free and buy their harvest back. It is important that our practices have been recognized. This award raised our hopes for an alternative farming. “
Özelkalem Magazine Local Government Award winners are decided after careful evaluations by a Jury consisting of renowned academia and individuals. This year’s jury included these following names: Prof.Dr. Cevat Geray, Prof.Dr Ruşen Keleş, Erdoğan Bilenser, Prof.Dr Neslihan Dostoğlu, Sadun Emre Alp, Prof.Dr Mete Tapan and Prof. Dr Handan Türkoğlu.
