World’s Most Expensive Olive Oil

World’s most expensive olive oil was sold in Seferihisar, a half liter bottle was sold for 22.000 TL (6040 USD).

The olive oil extracted from the olives of ancient trees in Seferihisar, had been sold in auction hold at the Teos archeological site. The olive oil gathered from an 1800 year-old olive tree was sold for a 22.000 TL at the second auction this year.

Seferihisar Municipality made an inspection of trees in the district and detected 200 trees older than 500 years. The olives of these trees picked with care and squeezed in traditional ways at the Seferihisar Municipality olive oil factory.

Before the auction, there was an acoustic classical music performance by Kultur Modern Brass Ensemble. Seferihisar Mayor Tunc Soyer presented a plaque to Mr.Cahit Cetin, who served many years as the CEO of Taris Unity of Agricultural Sales. Besides the painting students organized workshops.

The auction place was arranged under the shade of 1800 year-old olive tree. The herald was Mr.Nedim Atilla. The olive oil was packaged into 6 and 12 bottle-packs according to their acidity. The action started with aroma and tasting sessions, 137 liters of olive oil was sold for a total of 49.200 TL (13500 USD).
