University and Tourism Sector Met For Regional Tourism

The first Regional Tourism Conference organized by Dokuz Eylül University Fevziye Hepkon Academy started on 25th March.

At the conference on 25 – 27 March 2016 main subject was about services, price policies and competitions between countries, regions and destinations. Changing trends of travel was also discussed.

Some official people like District Governor Resul Çelik, Garrison Commander Levent Aksoy and businesswomen like Zeynep Öziş, The Owner of Alaçatı Taş Hotel, Bilge Bengisu Öğünlü, The Manager of Urliçe Winery, Neptün Soyer, President of Hıdırlık Agricultural Development Unity and Vice President of Köykoop participated to the conference.

The first day of the conference actualized at Çağan Irmak Conference Hall and Rector of Dokuz Eylül University Prof.Dr. Mehmet Füzün started to conference. He emphasized increasing of Seferihisar’s brand value and thanked to Seferihisar Mayor Tunç Soyer who made Seferihisar popular and initiated  new development model as ‘Cittaslow’ to Seferihisar and Turkey.

At the first session there were three speakers who raised awareness around region. Neptün Soyer as President of www.seferipazar.com, Zeynep Öziş as Owner of Alaçatı Taş Hotel and Bilge Bengisu Öğünlü as Manager of Urliçe Winery introduced their presentations. Another speaker was Mayor Tunç Soyer. He explained the projects and applied models in Seferihisar.

Second day some events were made such as;  SWOT analysis for Selçuk town by Sinan Şener, From Myths to Reality Presentation by Asst. Prof. Dr. Sevdiye Köksal, ‘Marinas’ Benefits to Regional Development and Teos Seferihisar Marina Sample’ presentation by Asst. Prof. Dr. Yeşim Çoşar and Asst. Prof. Dr. Ersel Zafer Oral, Seferihisar’s Tourism Strategy Plan by Prof. Dr. Jale Akmel, wine production’s importance and benefits in Izmir by Asst. Prof. Dr. Övünç Bardakoğlu and Dr. Tuğba Pala Malkoç, ‘The Importance of Slow Food Trend in Region and Sample of Gökçeada’ presentation by Asst. Prof. Dr. Turgay Bucak and Özlem Turan, ‘Slow Food Trend’s Importance for Sustainable Tourism Development’ presentation by Dr. Nesine Mirza and ‘ Review of Aksaray Regional Culinary in the Scope of Slow Food’ presentation by Asst. Yusuf Acar.

The congress ended with trips to Uzbaş Arboretum and Urla Winery Company.
