Seferihisar Municipality, which found, produced the rare Topan Karakilcik wheat (Triticum durum Desf.) and have the ancient bread cooked out of it, will be organizing a festival for this bread and the famous Armola cheese of Seferihisar.
The festival will be held on Saturday June 10th in Ulamis village all day including the feast-breaking supper at sunset.
We come across a small amount of Topan Karakılçık wheat (Triticum durum Desf.) firstly at the 1st Seed Swap Festival we organized in 2011 in Gödence village. This particular wheat faces the risk of extinction. Can Yucel Seed Center planted and multiplied the seed samples. We grained the seeds in the stone mill, mixed with yeast and baked in the traditional oven in Ulamis anf Turgut villages. This bread can be purchased on www.seferibakkal.com
