The flag of Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (KKTC) will wave in 30 countries.
Cittaslow accomplished something international diplomacy couldn’t. KKTC founded the national unity of Cittaslow in Northern Cyprus which resulted in adding the KKTC flag to Cittaslow Unity.
Cittaslow Head Stefano Pisani, Secretary General Pier Giorgio Olivetti and Tunc Soyer, Vice President of Cittaslow and Mayor of Seferihisar, Cittaslow capital in Turkey, who made great efforts to support the establishment of the unity gathered in North Cyprus on December 09-11 for the establishment of national network of Cittaslow in KKTC.
There are 3 Cittaslow cities in North Cyprus: Yeni Bogaziçi, Lefke and Mehmetcik.
Yeni Bogazici Mayor Katip Demir has been commissioned as Cittaslow Cyprus coordinator, Cittaslow Lefke representative Hasan Karlitas has been commissioned as technical coordinator.
Tunc Soyer, Vice President of Cittaslow stated that it was long process to found the North Cyprus Cittaslow Unity. My means of the unity, KKTC, which isn’t recognized by international diplomacy, has been recognized by 230 members of Cittaslow and 30 countries.
2019 Cittaslow General Assembly will take place in Cyprus.
