Ulamış Village Theatre of Seferihisar Municipality staged in Izmir, after Istanbul and Ankara.
The residents of Seferihisar’s Ulamış village do their daily chores at their farms and attend to theatre courses in the evenings. The village theatre company’s performances for İstanbul Maltepe and Ankara Çankaya Municipalities appraised by the audiences. The theatre company instructed by Vedat Murat Güzel lately staged their play "Stories of Life” in Izmir Sabancı Cultural Center in favour of children with leukemia.
The 25 TL priced tickets were sold off. The revenue gained will be donated to The Aegean Oncology and Children with Leukemia Association of Aegean University Children Oncology Clinic.
Seferihisar Mayor Tunç Soyer said: "The women in Ulamis village volunteered to join the theatre courses provided by Seferihisar municipality and proved that they can accomplish a lot when provided opportunities. We are proud of them. It is a great success for them to play in favour of the children with leukemia for a full audience. I am grateful for them and their instructor Vedat Murat Güzel for the performance and their donation.
