The scale model of the 500-year-old Sığacık citadel and castle was constructed by model maker Nurettin Ataman. The Sığacık model expanding to 81m2 area is the biggest solid model ever made in Turkey.
The Sığacık castle was erected upon the order of Suleiman the Magnificent in 1521 for the preparations of the Rhodes siege. Sığacık citadel consists of 284 houses and surrounding castle walls.
The miniature model project started in 2014 in Sığacık’s Düz Alan area and opened for visits on Sunday 5th August. The 1/50 scale model of the area expands to 81 m2. and was completely hand-made by Nurettin Ataman with utility knife, cardboard, wood and stone as pavements.
