They Will Plant Local Seeds in Their Schools and Harvest Own Vegetables
The seeds reproduced at Seferihisar’s Can Yücel Seed Center will be planted in the garden of İYTEV Yücel Tonguç College. The harvested vegetables of this garden will be cooked at the school’s kitchen.
Can Yücel Seed Center had visitors of 4th grade students of İYTEV Yücel Tonguç College. The college is named after Hasan Ali Yücel, the founder of former Village Institutes and İsmail Hakkı Tonguç. The seed center in Seferihisar is established according the will of poet Can Yücel, who is the son of Hasan Ali Yücel.
The children accompanied by their lecturers were greeted by Can Yücel Seed Center responsible Aylin Bostan. Mrs. Bostan provided information about the local seeds. She reminded that 280 kinds of local seeds were being reproduced at the seed center and distributed to the enthusiasts all around Turkey for free.
