Down syndrome kids enjoyed a day with flying kites at the “Kite Festival” organized by Seferihisar Municipality and Izmir Down Syndrome Association.
The Kite Festival was hold in Seferihisar’s Ulamış village with the participation of Ulamış residents and more than 60 Down-syndromed children alongside their families. The children flew kites nearby Ulamış Dam and enjoyed a day of spring.
Seferihisar Mayor Tunç Soyer also joined the event and flew kite with the children. Soyer: “The kite festival enabled the children with Down syndrome to spend a nice day outdoors, fly kites as well as raise awareness on this special health condition. These people can accomplish many things if they are provided opportunities. We appreciate the sincere hospitality of Ulamış residents for the festival, also the children at Seferihisar Children Municipality for joining the festival.”
Gülnaz Rodoplu, Head of İzmir Down-Syndrome mentioned that it was a great, happy day for the children and their families, they thank Seferihisar Mayor Tunç Soyer for the invitation to the festival.”
